We have a true passion for making a very good brownie.

We are Nat and Gary Essex. We have grown our business since 2011, when Gary came up with a recipe for our double chocolate brownie. The simple quality ingredients included fresh eggs, real butter and the finest Belgian chocolate.

After lots of amazing comments from friends, family and colleagues, Nat suggested we should try selling them at local farmer’s markets. Essex Bakery was born and we started baking brownies during weekends to sell at Jimmy’s Farm monthly market, whilst being employed full-time elsewhere.

In 2013, Nat left her job to concentrate on our firstborn and growing the business from our newly-equipped kitchen. Fast forward to 2020, we are a busy family business, supplying to local wholesale customers, the corporate world as well as selling directly to the public at country shows, food festivals and through our online shop.

We believe that it is our secret brownie recipe and good customer service that keep our customers coming back for more.
